The Sadie Peterson Delaney African Roots Library is now officially a fixture in this Community. The programs, the books, the creative events and the determinationa and persistance of the staff have made this endeavor such a success. Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States.
Our Juneteenth Preparation and Planning begins planning for the next years celebration as soon as the current years event is done!!! We would like the community to be a part of our plans! OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- In an era when America traveled by train, one of the best jobs an African-American man could land was working as a Pullman porter. It also was one of the worst.
