AFRIKAN HOLISTIC HEALTH FAIR ANNOUNCEMENT...DATE/TIME CONFIRMED

Greetings of Love to the Rastafari and African Community!

The Planning Committee of the Bronx Afrikan Holistic Health Fair have preliminary details for the Fair:

DATE/TIME: MAY 9th, 9-4pm

The Afrikan Holistic Health Fair will be taking place in the BRONX, set for MAY 9TH, opening circle to begin at 9am and first Three Workshops beginning at 10 am. Entertainment will commence at 3pm. This will be a One Day FREE event FOR THE IMMEDIATE BRONX COMMUNITY.

Location: Venues are being narrowed down by the planning committee and an announcement for the Location will be forthecoming. Several Bronx Community Centers and a Restored Hebrew Temple are being considered.

We have also talked to and are planning to ask for several people who we think will make wonderful presenters for the Fair. Basically this Fair's goal is to teach/inform people in this community of the Bronx, about Natural and Holistic methods to better health and healing.

The Fair will also afford a networking and a way for community people to have a connection to the kind of health that formerly only the very rich knew about, or were able to afford. This will be a work from the heart and I know that each of you are, as we say in Rastafari word sound "Heartical" Brothers and Sisters, want to be "Do-er's" rather than "Talker's".

We are still looking to InI Rastafari Community AND OTHERS, for assistance and real commitment. An event like this not only takes desire, but FIRM commitment and energy. It also takes making time for this event and the work to get it to happen. There are many who say they want to do something positive for poor people and we are working to get those commitments from them.

We are asking for those within the NYC region and nearby areas to join with the New York City Chapter of Fulfilled Rastafari and others, to Organize and make that desire and determination into reality. We are also asking for any member of the community who wants to be a part of this event, to contact us.

General Information about the Fair:

Audience: Men, Women and Children (over the age of 14 with a possible program for them involving fine arts maybe a space for them to do artistic works)

We want to arrange the Workshops given, perhaps 2 kind of Academic or Content Workshops and 1 'Hands on' type of workshop (ie 9 total workshops, but you attend 3)

Examples of Workshops to be Given: Afrikan Reiki, Health and Poetry Writing, Vital Waters for Health, Art Therapy/Healing through Art and Song, Holistic Herbal Health/African Holistic Herbal Remedies, Benefits of Natural Childbirth/Breast Feeding and the Doula process, Vegan Cooking and Eating Healthy Lecture, Journal Writing and Creative Expression in Art, Afrikan/Egyptian Yoga, Self Defense, Growing Organic Vegetables in Small Spaces, Afrikan Drumming and Dance for Health/Stress Relief -Africa as a Continent Breathing, Meditation and Meditational Prayer, for Stress Relief -Meditation is a Medicine.

We are currently looking at several vendors and vending space for -we are only interested in vendors of Cultural Items, (Afrocentric including all of the Diasporal Peoples). Vendors should theme around Health, Wellness, and/or Culture. There will only be a limited number of vendors as this event is not meant to sell things to people who do not have much, we are not looking to make money on people at this free event, but we do want to provide those cultural items that are of good quality and that which they love to purchase.

Goals that we wish to bring Forthe to the Community: Provide Information and illustration of Holistic Health and Healing. A grassroots, spiritual kind of vibe, to let ones experience a Natural way of life, if even for a day, and to teach how the audience may be able to live better, healthier by utilizing methods we teach.

Give thanks for the Interest and the Suggestions, and the committments to help. Again Rastafari as a "doing" livity rather than a "talk" livity is what makes the community experience the COMMON UNITY of the Diaspora.

Please email any I from the Organizational Committee to make a committment to help in what ever way that the I feels to contribute.
